It's official, my phone number belongs to Verizon now, so my next bill from Cavtel is the only thing between me and moving on with my telecommunication life. Note that Verizon's rep called to tell me this earlier today, and remarked that the switch happened yesterday.
I asked about DSL and she said there was no note on the file about that. Hmm... maybe they've turned it off finally... My plan to count the days until my email account is also closed seems ludicrous in the face of new information from a reliable source, that there isn't any way for the techs to correlate a specific email address with an account. So.... for example, you could call up and ask for the additional email addys they offer with a DSL line, and they wouldn't be able to tell if your account was dialup or DSL.
Pause for an oy freakin vey.
Given the general state of competence over there in tha Cave, as well as the high turnover rate, and my email address might remain live for years. It's been a spam trap for years anyway.
Meanwhile, my Vonage line is coming in very handy what with all the long distance calls spinning off of Katrina. Crystal clear, reliable and haven't had any problems at all, even with switching lines, which I've had to do to manage incoming calls. Have I mentioned that setup was simple and fast, and the entire signup process is automated? Thought so.
