yes, progress has been made, could probably do a 180 with a wheelbarrow in there now, if you're into that sort of thing, not that there's anything wrong with that, < /socal >, not that I'm accusing you of being into that sort of thing < /spindoc > etc.
far more exciting to me, is that I walked up to the VW and opened the door yesterday, something impossible for at least 3 years now. 3, the auspicious number 3 ....
there are three(3) items of interest to me in the garage -
1) a small free-standing kick-drive potter's wheel
b) a large pile of rusted iron that when reassembled in just the right way, will become a late 1800's woodstove designed for bakery production, with 4 stove-top burner grilles, two bread compartments and a highly decorated side door, with a harp in relief. Lovely thing.
iii) 1971 VW Beetle, missing all but the driver's seat, ignition gone, brake lines shot, '74 engine with a few unfortunate choices (IIRC, the carb is the wrong model) and naturally, rust. A few extra wheels though, gotta have spares.
prolly worth a mention that until yesterday, there was only a narrow path from front door to street, amidst the stacks of old furniture parts, wooden chairs, construction debris, computers - was a solid mire of Other People's Stuff.
what's the name of that law which states that as soon as you find yourself in possession of a 2 car garage, everyone else you know will suddenly need some place to store their OPS™ for 'just until we get a place" - which naturally, is the last time you ever hear from them?
well, there should be, (sorry Lenny) but extreme humility prevents me from naming it after myself.
