It is with a deep breath and some trepidation that I announce that tomorrow morning, shortly after coffee-ingestion-time, the huge red door of the DogTown Garage will ominously creak open, and the Retro Beige Sale Revival Diaspora will begin.
There are charming chairs, bunches of books, a large aquarium, light fixtures, a hodgepodge of hardware, a cluster of frames, a bird cage, mysterious electronic devices and, of course, the beige-plastic-clad chaotic jumble of computers. The computers are of unknown condition, and at various intervals throughout the day, will be pulled out at random, plugged in, and turned on. Some will live, and no doubt, some will simply exhale the last of their magic smoke and pass beyond the state of usefulness. Those whose fate it is to start up will be evaluated and sold for token amounts of coin; the others may be scavenged for parts, reduced to their essential bits, appreciated for their fleeting aesthetic value, stacked into a pile, or handed to curious passersby.
It should be noted that this is a garage sale, and thus, each of these items has been in the garage, where climate control and regular dusting do not occur. Hence, everything is priced to go! There will be massive discounts for multiple item purchases, so the more you buy, the more you save! Go wild! Buy a bundle of computer hardware BEFORE I plug them in and save even more!
The Only Annual Retro Beige Sale Revival Diaspora will be held Saturday, August 27th from around 8 am until the doors close at DogTown Garage.
And now, the fine print:
Each item is sold as is. Handling charges will be added for more thorough cleaning of any item. Almost all of the beige items are Apple/Mac related, but there are NO IBOOKS, so please, no camping out overnight, and absolutely NO rioting. Failure to comply may result in physical, emotional, financial or spiritual setbacks. The RBSRD is open to anyone, even Henrico Co. residents, but I retain the right to refuse anyone, purely at my whim, especially if they try to start a platform war. Unruly RBSRD attendees may be recycled as dog food.
